VIOLENCE LINK TASK FORCE MISSION STATEMENT
Mission Statement

The Violence Link Taskforce of Manasota will work as a community collaborative in creating awareness and utilizing our knowledge of the link between animal and human violence, with the goal of eliminating inhumane acts inflicted upon living beings in the Manasota area.

Objectives to Implement Our Mission Statement:

1. To awaken our community to the link between animal abuse and human violence.

2. To encourage affected agencies to respond appropriately to both perpetrators and victims.

3. To cultivate compassion in the community for people and animals and confirm the relevance of that value in everyday life.

VIOLENCE LINK TASK FORCE MISSION STATEMENT OBJECTIVES

OBJECTIVES

1. To awaken our community to the link between animal abuse and human violence through education and advocacy activities

2. To develop a strong, effective cross-referral network of professionals from animal organizations, human services, law enforcement and other relevant agencies to facilitate appropriate professional responses in situations involving violence to humans, animals, or both

3. To work as a team to identify at-risk individuals, develop intervention strategies, share information among involved agencies, and intervene appropriately to arrest the cycle of violence against both people and animals.
